 A total of BGN 368 545 was collected in the first part of the “Choose to Help” campaign of Raiffeisenbank and Dir.bg, 70% of them donated for healthcare projects. The funds were donated by the employees and the bank and the website, and BGN 100 was added to every personal donation. The initiative was joined by 2833 employees of the bank and by other donors, and the donation by the bank and its employees totalled BGN 360 667. Apart from Raiffeisenbank, Dir.bg and their employees, the “Choose to Help” campaign was also joined by external donors, who made their personal contribution directly online on the campaign website www.izberi.rbb.bg, which presents the nearly 30 charity projects of 23 organizations and institutions. The project for buying a blood infusion apparatus – Infusomat, of the Specialized Children’s Oncohaematology Hospital attracted the biggest funds (over BGN 66,000), followed by the project of the National Cardiology Hospital for buying an echocardiography device and modern respirators and monitors (more than BGN 64,000), the Bulgarian Christmas project (over BGN 47,000) and the Campaign for Sterility Treatment by means of the “In Vitro” method (over BGN 41,000). In addition to this, some 107 of Raiffeisenbank’s employees made donations for causes by their own choice, which were not included in the initial list of the campaign, thus collecting a total of BGN 13,400. The employees supported 6 organisations working locally and developing projects significant for the particular region. The “Choose to Help” initiative continues in 2010 and on www.izberi.rbb.bg the charity projects will be updated and the beneficiaries will make announcements of how they spent the donations. |
